Peter Keim

Father of Nicholas Keim (1768–1830) and of Jacob, George, John, Samuel, Mary, Elizabeth and Peter (letter of Judge Albert Russell Keim, 1896, in Keim and Allied Families (1898-1899)). Lived in Berks County; the family later moved to Somerset County. “Concerning Peter very little seems to be known.” His own parentage is disputed (see conflicts).

Open questions

  • Ancestry: son of Johan Peter Keim, immigrant with land warrants of 1719/1730 (DJH 1912) vs grandson of Johannes Keim of Oley, the Founder (Keim and Allied Families 1898) vs one of three brothers Peter, Conrad and George from Baden (family claim, same book)
