Life and evidence
(Habegger, Swiss of Adams and Wells, M38.1, M42)
Born 28 Jan 1825 on the Münsterberg, son of Abraham Sprunger and Anna Moser. Married Marianna Moser on 29 Nov 1851 on the Münsterberg; reached Sonnenberg, Ohio 7 May 1852 and Wabash Township, Adams County 6 Oct 1852. Twice in the lot for minister (1856, 1868) but not chosen. He became very deaf and stood beside the pulpit to hear his half-brother Samuel F. preach; conservative, he disliked the 1879 church addition. Net worth 1861: $1,400. Died 12 Nov 1898 (Find a Grave: 28 Nov).
Probably came with the 1852 founding group from Münsterberg (most of whom were Sprungers). The 1973 Sprunger genealogy’s branch numbering should show his line back to Peter Sprunger (1757–1840).
