What it is
Langnau’s marriage and banns register (Eherodel), 1837–1852. Bern required banns in the couple’s home parish (Heimatort), so Langnau citizens living in the Jura appear here even when they married elsewhere — including Anabaptist marriages.
What it says about the family
No. 141 (register p. 131; scan image 68), transcribed by Claude 2026-10-31 — [bracketed] uncertain:
Neuenschwander. Banns Sept. 29, Oct. 6, 13 [1844].
Christen Neuenschwander, Peter[s Sohn?] — geb. 23. Dec. 1812.
Anna Lehmann, Peter[s Tochter?] — geb. 25. Febr. 1825. — beyde aus der Täuffer-Gemeinde, von hier u. [sesshaft zu Tavannes?].
Right column: d. 26t. Oct. durch Täufer-Lehrer [Joh. Zingg?] […] [Gem.]

This is the marriage of Christian P. Neuenschwander (1812–1884) and Anna Maria Lehman (1825–1886) on 26 October 1844, performed by an Anabaptist preacher — which is why it is absent from the Tramelan Reformed registers. It settles which Christen he was: the son of Peter (see Bern K Langnau 36 - Taeuferfamilien Heimatrodel, p. 18). The month in the birth date (Dec) differs from the Täufer register and headstone (23 Nov 1812).
