What happened
Bern founded a church at Eggiwil — the Ramseyers’ ancestral home — specifically to fight Anabaptism; it became its own parish in 1648. Later anti-Anabaptist parishes and schools: Schwarzenegg 1693, Heimiswil 1704, Trub, Langnau, Lützelflüh and Sumiswald 1719.
