Life and evidence

(Habegger, Swiss of Adams and Wells, M81)

Born 10 Mar 1793 on the Montagne de La Heutte; married Barbara Lehman 4 Mar 1816; farmed La Tanne, Moutier, where all twelve children were born. Chosen by lot as deacon (Diakon) on 6 Nov 1839. Emigrated with the family, reaching Wayne County, Ohio on 7 May 1852, and died there a year later, 1 May 1853.
Born at La Heutte like Abraham Sprunger (1797–1889), four years older: possibly brothers (unproven). If so, Christopher descends from that Sprunger couple twice.

Habegger, Swiss of Adams and Wells, “The Sprunger Family”: a child of Peter Sprunger (1757–1840) (b. 20 Nov 1757, Pieterlen) and Anna Röthlisberger (b. 1762) (b. 20 Dec 1762, Kirchberg); siblings who came to America: Elisabeth (b. 1785, m. Peter Habegger), Johann (b. 1793) and Abraham (b. 1797). Since Christopher descends from both Johann and Abraham, Peter and Anna are double ancestors. To confirm against the 1973 Sprunger Genealogy.
