Life and evidence

Jeptha Plank’s second wife, born 3 Jun 1810 in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; came to Wayne County, Ohio, about 1830 with her parents Abraham Kurtz (1769–1830) and Magdalena Lantz (wife of Abraham Kurtz); married Oct 1832; eight children; living at the old home in 1889 (Commemorative Biographical Record, 1889).

Cross-link (found 2026-11-01): her father was a grandson of the immigrant Abraham Kurtz (arr. 1749), who is also the grandfather of Veronica Kurtz (1800–1845) on the Miller side. So the two Veronica Kurtzes were first cousins once removed (through Abraham’s two wives, who were sisters, the Bolingers), and Christopher descends from the immigrant Abraham Kurtz on both sides. Which of the immigrant’s German-born sons (Christian or Jacob) was her grandfather is not known. See Double ancestors.
