Life and evidence
Parents found (Hostetler 1938, no. 3161)
“Susanna Yoder, Orrville, Ohio, at death, was b. Apr. 4, 1791, near Summit Mills, Pa., and m. in 1828 Michael Schrock, son of Casper Schrock. Amish.” Children: Stephen, Tobias, Elizabeth, Sarah, Fanny, Samuel, Barbara, John, Moses, Michael. Parents: John Yoder (Somerset pioneer) and Magdalena Stutzman (fl. 1772); grandparents Christian Stutzman and Barbara Hochstetler, daughter of the immigrant Jacob Hochstetler (1712–1776).
Pedigree collapse: the Ramseyer side (through Susanna) and the Miller side both descend from Jacob Hochstetler. (The “1828” marriage date is doubted in the 1998 Hochstetler book, since son Stephen was born by 1811.)
‘A Hostetler descendant’ (1986 history).
